Your first choice for display screens
If you ask most people about Samsung, the first thing they'll probably tell you is, I believe they manufacture phones.
They may even have one. And most likely, they're pretty happy with it. If the phone reference doesn't spring to mind first, then the next thing they'll probably say is, Oh yes, they make large screens. And again, if they own one, they're pretty happy with it.
Now, if you ask someone in our business about Samsung, they could probably tell you a little more. They could probably tell you that the company is Korean-based. And they would probably put it in a category with Sony and Panasonic.
Now, all of this is true. But it doesn't begin to scratch the surface. In terms of people's perception, most are looking through a keyhole. Because when it comes down to it, there is a much bigger picture. There is so much that would probably surprise people. And put Samsung right there at the top of the list.
To begin with, we are global. We have 120 offices in 57 countries. We operate plants in six different countries across Asia, Europe, and North America. We are one of the few panel manufacturers in the world, and the largest manufacturer of LCD displays. In fact, our LCD panel business is recognized as number one for global market share. We're not just a player we're a leader.
Now, a lot of the other usual suspects will make similar claims about their place in the pecking order. But here's what they can't claim. Samsung spent $5.3 billion* last year on research and development. In fact, we spend more in our first quarter than many others spend in a whole year. But that's what it takes to develop the innovations that set us apart as a technology leader. We help shape and drive the industry as a whole.
It is this type of investment that has brought breakthroughs like MagicNet Technology to the forefront. MagicNet allows you to control multiple screen content from a single PC. Now a single operator can easily and effectively control content throughout a facility. He or she can transmit a wide variety of media and office files from the server directly to clients via an Ethernet network, using the server/client architecture. No extra software to buy. No after-purchase hassles. No add-ons necessary. Just a simple way to get more from your displays.
Another R&D breakthrough is our proprietary DNIe technology. It allows the viewer or operator to take any signal from a conventional broadcast source and transform it into a stunning picture on any screen. To achieve this, it employs a variety of features all working in concert. First a motion optimizer eliminates noise by taking visual data and automatically breaking it into signal and noise, eliminating noise and blur without the slightest damage to the original signal. Then a color optimizer brings out the natural hues by calculating the saturation of red, green, and blue in the input signal and adjusting it to shades that the human eye accepts as natural. Even white tone enhancement produces more striking results. Next the contrast enhancer gets to work a ground-breaking algorithm that recognizes over 1 million criteria for applying contrast, and automatically analyzes up to 70,000 elements within a frame. This overcomes noise boost and flickers common to conventional contrast enhancers, providing a picture rich in contrast, even in the tiniest details. This is followed by the detail enhancer, which eliminates unnatural effects by automatically analyzing the portion of the signal to be amplified and detecting disturbances to bring the viewer a startlingly sharp and lifelike image. Finally the false contours eliminator enables natural conversion of an image, allowing clearer, more lifelike images on the screen.
In addition to MagicNet and DNIe technologies, our investment in R&D also brings us to another important benefit unique to Samsung. To put this benefit in perspective, you have to understand a basic fact about the industry. The big players will say they specialize in either LCD's or plasmas - the operative word being or'. And they'll give all kinds of reasons why. But here's why Samsung is different. And better. Only Samsung offers a broad range of professional LCD and plasma solutions. And just so we're clear, we offer solutions for both. Not a lot of plasmas and a token LCD product. Or vice-versa. When you come to us with a specific retail application, we can offer a solid, dependable solution that best suits your requirement. With the other players, your solutions are dependent on the limitations of their selections. Not us. We offer 42, 50 and 63 professional HD plasma displays as well as 32, 40 and 46 professional LCD displays. We have the product breadth across both LCD and plasma to insure that you will always have real options, which gives you a better choice.

So, Samsung has the global presence, the technological leadership and the breadth of product. Obviously, all good reasons to put us in the top tier. But here's why we should be the only choice: worry-free results. Because, on top of all the aforementioned reasons, our company offers true peace of mind with each purchase. Why? We're one of the few integrated players in the world with the best-in-class' supply chain management capability. We can offer more visibility in future supply and facilitate better planning. With our warehouses in California and Chicago and superior supply management capability, we can always deliver what you need, when you need it. We serve global customers with 120 offices in 57 countries. Plus, we offer superior warranty coverage and quality control. Remember, we led the way with a three-year warranty for LCD's and a two-year warranty for plasmas. And we also offer extended warranty options up to five years, with regular on-site service program at no extra cost during the warranty period. We offer full replacement in case of panel failure, with timely 48-hour on-site service support. And should the panel fail within 90 days, we'll always replace it with new equipment. Moreover, as one of the few remaining integrated players, we design and produce the majority of the components and subsystems that go into our display products. This control allows us to provide the best solution in terms of quality by avoiding the outsourcing of key components, outsourcing that is responsible for the questionable quality control so prevalent among other manufacturers.
Think about it. Samsung has you covered from the big picture all the way down to the nuts and bolts. With this in mind, choosing Samsung means choosing with confidence. |
